Bisila Bokoko and Africa Fashion Week (New York) Help To Educate Young African Minds

NEW YORK, NY, June 23, 2010- Bisila Bokoko’s Wines might quench thirsts, but her African Literacy Project (BBALP) quenches African minds. BBALP, a non-profit international organization, partners with Africa Fashion Week (New York) to help promote literacy among African people.

BBALP has been created to build and improve efficient, long lasting and modern libraries in order to share the gift of knowledge with people in Africa. The libraries will serve as concrete utilities to feed the minds of all Africans and strengthen literacy for generation to come.

“Knowledge is powerful”, says Adiat Disu, Founder and Producer of AFWNY. “Combing such a powerful event with a powerful cause will lead to great things for Africa.”

Respected brands who are sponsors at AFWNY include: Ladybrille, Bisila Wines, ICY PR, Jamati, Trendy Africa, Munaluchi, BHF, Arik International Airlines, Revlon, Dollhouse, Skinny Water, and Room Mate Hotels.

AFWNY is produced by Adireé Fashion Agency and include runway shows hosting 21+ designers from various countries in Africa and those of the African Diaspora, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Featured designers include Frank Oshodi, Kosibah, and Côté Minou.
