Help Wax and Siphoakazi raise Funds for Usizolwethu School

Cameroonian soul-singer, Wax and South African diva, Siphokazi will perform live with top DJs at special gala evening at Carnival City Casino in Brakpan on Saturday 21 November, in support of Usizolwethu School for severe mentally impaired learners in Daveyton and surrounding areas.

The function, which will be graced by top government officials, aims to raise funds to buy a bus that can ferry the learners to and from school, and to build a kitchen and a school centre for skills development.

Usizolwethu School for learners with Special Educational Needs (LSEN) was established in 1984 with the aim of accommodating learners with a range of learning disabilities that excluded them from mainstream schools. The school also accommodates learners with autistic spectrum disorders, behavioural disorders, cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, and partial sightedness among others.

Learners are transported daily from home to school and vice versa because of the nature of their disability, and provided with breakfast and lunch; they come from very poor communities in Daveyton, Wattville, Etwatwa, Petit, Barcelona, Kingsway, Cloverdene, Eastvale and surrounding informal settlements.

Individuals and corporate bodies are invited to join this cause by making donations to the school, or by purchasing individual tickets or group tables at the gala evening.
