2008 MTV Africa Music Awards [MAMA] Winners

Africa knew it was its time to shine and shine it did with what most have dubbed an awesome night at the just completed 1st ever MTV Africa Music Awards [MAMA]. The night included a duo performance from USA's Kelly Rowland and Nigeria's D'Banj, Nigeria's Seun Kuti, and South Africa's Jozi, among many. Even Nigeria's footballer Jay-Jay Okocha got in on the fun and excitement with his football stage performance.

The night, however, belonged to D'Banj and Naeto C. Both won the highly coveted awards of Artist of the Year and Best New African Act respectively. Kenya's Wahu picked up an award in the Best Female category while Ikechukwu won the Best Video of the Year.
