intoFashion Brings Sizzling Fashion Seminars to Nigeria

For the first time in fashion history, in a country called Nigeria, West Africa with an estimated population of over 140million people, what appears to be a relatively organized day of fashion training and fashion shows will take place on October 4th, 2008! The producers of the show, Fashion Exchange Limited, consists of UK based Nigerian fashion industry professionals.

IT'S NOT JUST ANOTHER EVENT: "intofashion is not just another fashion event. This innovative and informative initiative is set up to promote, support and capacity build the Nigerian garment industry. It is an event which recognises Nigeria’s fast emerging fashion industry. This industry boasts a diverse pool of talent and its reputation for innovation is putting the country at the forefront of design around the world. There is no doubt the creativity and talent Nigerian designers possess. However, to position these design talents in the international fashion arena, there is a need for the Nigerian garment industry to better organise and structure itself in order to support and capacity build them to export ready status."

WHO FACILITATES IT: "intofashion will be facilitated by international fashion industry professionals and experts with unique insight and a global perspective. This crop of selected professionals with vast experience and many years in fashion education will be sharing their knowledge with participants through the workshops, masterclasses and seminars."

WHAT DESIGNERS WILL SHOW AT EVENT: "intofashion has invited 5 innovative and inspirational UK based Nigerian designers to showcase their new collections and share their international fashion industry experiences. Zed Eye – the darling of all things unexpected, Nkwo – winner of the prestigious Phoenix Fashion Award, Kosibah – master of corsetry and sculpting the female form, Adebayo Jones – renowned for elegance and glamour and Ituen Basi – individualistic with great eye for details."
