SACRAMENTO, Calif. (May 13, 2015) — Volvo, one of the world’s best known and respected brands within the commercial vehicle industry, has become a sponsor of the 2015 Outstanding Women Leader Awards produced by The National Association of Women Business Owners, Sacramento Valley chapter (NAWBO-Sac).
Now in its 18th year, the OWL Awards is Sacramento Valley’s leading event paying tribute to women entrepreneurs and business leaders who are advancing entrepreneurial excellence and community leadership.

In 2004, Volvo launched its concept car, a vehicle for women built by women. Recently, the brand announced a $500million investment in its first U.S. plant, affirming its pledge to US businesses. In Sacramento, more than half (54%) of Niello Volvo of Sacramento’s clients are women, and that number is increasing.

The OWL Awards will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 5:30 pm at the Double Tree Hotel in Sacramento. Nominations open in a few weeks for the seven categories the awards offer: Woman on the Way Award, Innovator Award, Luminary Award, Executive Woman Award (recognizing a corporate leader who advances women in business), Vision Award (a nonprofit leader), and the Wise Woman Award (Business Owner of the Year).
