Ladybrille Magazine Names Edi Gathegi “X-Men: First Class” Actor Man of the Month for April 2011!

Sacramento, CA (April 5th, 2011)--Ladybrille Magazine, a digital magazine founded in 2007 to re-brand the images of Africans in the USA & Europe, announced today that Hollywood Actor Edi Gathegi is its Man of the Month for April 2011. The “Ladybrille Man of the Month” is a monthly feature which celebrates outstanding men, locally and internationally, for their brilliant contributions to their communities at large.
“Edi was a natural fit for us for our April 2011 Film Edition,” said Uduak Oduok Editor-in-Chief and Founder of Ladybrille Magazine. “Beyond the charisma and attention he commands when he walks into a room, he is an actor driven to achieve excellence and to improve on his craft daily; which is why we have also dubbed him a fierce actor. We are delighted to celebrate him and all of his accomplishments this whole month of April.”
Gathegi,of Kenyan heritage, was born in Kenya but raised in California, USA. He began acting a little over four years ago, but has managed to land highly coveted roles in major motion pictures including in the film Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (the sequel). His latest major motion picture is the upcoming “X-Men: First Class” film where he plays the mutant Darwin. The film is scheduled for release in theaters on June 3rd, 2011.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as a fierce actor,” said Gathegi. “[I am] humbled to be selected as a Man of the Month.”
