Sacramento, CA -June 24, 2015 – The National Association of Women Business Owners Sacramento Valley (NAWBO-Sac) was featured on Fox40 Sacramento, on Tuesday’s morning segment, represented by Uduak Oduok, the 2015 Outstanding Women Leader Awards (OWL Awards) Event Chair. In the segment, Oduok discussed the rise of women business owners in Sacramento and the OWL Awards.
The number of women-owned firms in the Sacramento region is nearly 60,000 (59,200), an increase from 56,700 in 2014, according to a 2015 “State of Women-Owned Businesses Report,” commissioned by American Express OPEN.
Those businesses produced combined annual revenue of $9.4 billion, up from $8.5 billion in 2014.
NAWBO-Sac’s OWL Awards, which is now open for nominations, is a prestigious event established in 1997 to honor the achievements and accomplishments of some of Sacramento Valley’s most hard working and successful women entrepreneurs who have excelled in business and community leadership.
On October 15th, 2015, members of Sacramento Valley’s influential business and leadership community, among many, will gather for the annual event to honor these winners and learn from their inspiring stories. The event will be hosted by KFBK radio personality Kitty O’Neal; and will be held at The Double Tree Hotel in Sacramento.
The deadline for nominations is August 1st, 2015 and one woman will be chosen in each of the following categories:
