Is Africa Ready to Unclench Its Fist?
Congratulations to Barack Hussein Obama, the son of an African immigrant from Kenya and an American white mother, who is now the 44th President of the United States of America. This is a time where Africa can be inspired and begin making a difference for its people. While the President in his inauguration speech made many strong points, the part that really resonates with what we are doing here at Ladybrille follows:
"To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West: Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."
Is Africa ready and willingly to unclench its fist?
