By now, you are most likely aware of the passing of Yves Saint Laurent. Our Web Snob partner Nichelle Gainer of 55 Secret captures it so succintly. In addition to his many accomplishments which she recognizes, she adds, " . . . but my favorite fact about this legend is that he was the very first major designer to put black models on the runway ever - and he continued to do so throughout his remarkable career. This fact is mentioned in passing in his obituaries, but it was no small thing to black models and other people of color in the fashion industry."
