Briefly, this year's event promises to be great. The event will be held on October 15th, 2015 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Sacramento. The nationally recognized jazz musician Dave Bass will be performing. Media personality Kitty O'Neal will be our host. The Outstanding Women Leader (OWL) Awards were established in 1997 by the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Sacramento Valley chapter to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding women leaders in the Sacramento business community. The event is a tribute to top achievers among women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders who have advanced the status of entrepreneurial excellence and community leadership.

HOW WE SELECT OUR CANDIDATES
We look for candidates with outstanding and impactful works in the Sacramento Valley region. We also consider supporting letters submitted in behalf of the nominee by credible and influential names in the community, among other factors.

HOW TO COMPLETE OWL ONLINE NOMINATIONS
A. All nominations for the OWL Awards are to be submitted using our OWL online nomination form. Link: http://nawbo-sac.org/form.php?form_id=18&c=1
B. Under the ‘Award’ category subheading of the form, please select the category/categories for which you are nominating your candidate.
C. Under the ‘Nominator’ subheading, provide the requested contact information about you the nominator. For example: your name, email address etc. Also indicate how you know the candidate.
D. Under the ‘Nominee’ subheading, please provide the requested contact information about your candidate.
E. Under the ‘Statement’ subheading, please describe, in not more than 500-750words, why you believe this candidate merits the Award you have nominated her for.
F. Under the ‘Supporting Letters’ category submit documentation you believe explains why your candidate merits the nominated award. Examples of supporting letters/documentation include prior honors and awards, newspaper/magazine features, and a CV.
