THE HOWARD UNIVERSITY AFRICAN STUDENTS ASSOCIATION PRESENTS ITS 7th ANNUAL FASHION SHOW:

“SEVEN: Experience The Forbidden”

The Howard University African Student’s Association (HUASA) will be holding its Seventh Annual Fashion Show “SEVEN: Experience the Forbidden” on February 26, 2010 at 7 pm in Cramton Auditorium, located at 2455 Sixth Street NW, Washington DC, 20001. Doors open for the event at 6 pm.

Howard University African Students’ Association (HU ASA) is a cultural organization with the focus of fostering unity among continental Africans and Africans within the Diaspora. Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, this organization is a major contender with regards to representing the student body. The fact that Howard University is the considered the Mecca for education, attracting the best and brightest and graduating them as sterling alumni, also puts HU-ASA at a vantage-point among student organizations. The Howard University African Students

Association has been named Organization of the Year by Howard University for the academic years of 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 and intends to maintain and expand this legacy with this incoming academic year.

“SEVEN: Experience the Forbidden” promises to be a dazzling arrangement of the best African and American fashion in an ode to vibrant, exotic, and high class fashion. Designers for the show include AYA MORRISON, COTE MINOU, GLAMM FASHIONS, IDIA DESIGN, NOTE2SELF CLOTHING, UREBOR FAUTORE by Fatima Ozoya, and 7 DEADLY SINS by Derrick Hughes.

This year, the ASA Fashion Show is partnering with the Purchase for Africa campaign (www.purchaseforafrica.org), a non-profit organization whose aim is to protect the livelihoods of thousands of apparel workers in Africa by directing apparel sourcing all over the world to African producers. Sponsors of the program are also given immense exposure and publicity to the Howard University community as well as the international community of the DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York areas.
